The best advice I would give anyone would be to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Course. I have had my license for a long time and I took the Basic Rider Course in September. It teaches/reminds you about stuff that you sorta forget.

Keep the shiny side up!

Seriously though...This isn't my 'best' advice (I bet it generates some discussion)...I notice how people put their feet on their footpegs. When I was taught to ride (back in the 70s!) I was told to always put the balls of your feet on your footpegs. A lot of people ride 'flat footed' where the peg rests in the middle of their foot. If you ride on your 'toes' you feel better balanced. Right or wrong I always judge riders by where they place their feet!
